Time zones, payments, taxes, and the actual companies hiring Indian talent right now. Everything you need to land a remote international job.
Why now is the right moment
Remote-friendly hiring from US and EU companies for Indian engineers is at a multi-year high. Three things changed:
- Post-2023 layoffs taught Western companies that distributed teams work
- Deel, Remote.com, and EOR services made hiring abroad legally trivial
- Indian engineers proved themselves in async-first cultures during COVID
Where to look
The ZyroJobs job feed aggregates listings from JSearch, Active Jobs DB, Indeed, LinkedIn Jobs Search, and Hilltop's Jobs API (all via RapidAPI), with Indian listings ranked first. Filter by "remote" and you'll see hundreds of openings that explicitly accept Indian candidates.
Time zones — pick your battle
- PST (US West) — 12.5 hour gap. Brutal for sync calls but workable if the
team is async-first.
- EST (US East) — 9.5 hours. Some overlap in your evening.
- CET (EU) — 3.5 hours. The friendliest gap. Most of your day overlaps.
- GMT (UK) — 5.5 hours. Equally friendly.
Payment and tax basics
The cleanest setup is to register as a sole proprietor or one-person company, get a current account, and invoice the foreign company monthly. Use Wise or Stripe Atlas for international receipts. Hire a CA — the GST and 15CA/CB filings are not DIY territory.

- DevOps / Kubernetes / Terraform — $80–140K USD
- ML engineering with LLM ops — $90–160K USD
- Senior React + TypeScript — $60–100K USD
How to stand out
Three things matter:
- A GitHub with at least one substantial public project
